"Best Practice Recommendations on the Pathology of Urachal Neoplasms and Urinary Bladder Glandular Lesions"

Dear Colleagues,


We are pleased to announce that on September 8, 2023, the International Society of Urological Pathology will host a conference, open to members and non-member clinicians and scientists in Pathology, Urology, and related fields, immediately preceding the 35th European Congress of Pathology, in Dublin, Ireland.


This conference, which will provide a "Consensus Conference on Best Practice Recommendations on the Pathology of Urachal Neoplasms and Urinary Bladder Glandular Lesions," will be hosted at The Spencer Hotel (address: Excise Walk, International Financial Services Centre, Dublin 1, D01 X4C9, Ireland; www.thespencerhotel.com/).

This Consensus will be Co-Chaired by ISUP members, Dr. Gladell P. Paner (USA), and Dr. Henning Reis (Germany).


The Consensus meeting will address 4 topics, including:


A. Diagnosis and Classification of Urachal Neoplasms, including Criteria and Ancillaries. Chairs: Dr. Antonio Lopez-Beltran (Spain) and Dr. Isabela Werneck da Cunha (Brazil)


B. Specimen Handling, Staging, and Reporting of Prognostic Parameters for Urachal Neoplasms. Chair: Dr. Toyonori Tsuzuki (Japan)


C. Diagnosis and Classification of Glandular Lesions of Bladder and Pouches, Including Criteria, Differential Diagnosis and Ancillaries. Chair: Dr. Fiona MacLean (Australia)


D. Molecular Features of Urachal Neoplasms and Bladder Glandular Neoplasms. Chairs: Dr. Hikmat Al-Ahmadie (USA) and Dr. Nadine Gaisa (Germany)


Each of these topics will be researched by one of four Working Groups, whose reviews will be informed in part based on a pre-meeting survey of the ISUP membership. Working Group findings will be presented to the membership for consensus voting at the meeting.
